Betfred League One Round Up | Round 14

Round 14 of Betfred League One saw the sides at the top dominate much of the action on Sunday.

League leaders, North Wales Crusaders, recorded the most dominant victory in the division with a 56-22 home success over Workington Town.

Elsewhere in League One, Midlands held on to their victory at home to Rochdale Hornets.

The Canes had a 16-0 lead early in the second half thanks to tries from Ryan Johnston, Tom Wilkinson and Matty Chrimes.

However, the Hornets fought back to make it an entertaining end to the contest.

This win sees Midlands move up to second spot.

Another side who had a nervy end to their match was Swinton, who defeated Whitehaven away in Cumbria.

Jack Newbegin opened the scoring for Haven, before the Lions struck through a Jack Stevens brace and a try from Ethan Fitzgerald.

Whitehaven scored twice more to make it 18-14 in favour of Swinton heading into the final quarter, but neither side registered a further point.

Second bottom, Keighley Cougars, recorded just their third win of the season as they beat Dewsbury.

The Cougars had a 20-4 lead at half-time, with tries from George Flanagan, Jack Teanby and Andy Gabriel plus four goals from Matty Beharell.

Dewsbury fought back and closed the gap to four points, but it was Keighley who saw it out with Beharell adding a successful penalty goal to seal the victory.
